Some insect bites and stings are not really harmful and you may even barely feel them but some can be really a pain, like bee stings. Some can be not so painful but can be very annoying and cause itching. Whatever they are, here are some tips for natural relief:
- Essential oils. This is one fast method for natural relief from insect bites. And if you’re out for a trek, small bottles of these are easy to carry. Any of the following essential oils will do: tea tree, lavender, blue chamomile or helichrysum. Just put a drop on the affected area. If the itch persists, re-apply every ten minutes or so.
- Neem powder. This is made from extracts of the neem tree which originates from India. If you are into alternative healing, particularly ayurveda, getting this from an ayurvedic practitioner will be a piece of cake. Make a thick neem paste by adding warm water to the neem powder then apply it to the bitten area two times a day for that natural relief or until the itch or pain is gone. Bye-bye, insect bites! If you want to keep yourself from getting those insect bites in the first place, slather on some neem oil. This is an excellent insect repellent so that you won’t need neem powder for natural relief any longer.
- Household remedy. Whip up a thin paste of apple cider vinegar, fuller’s earth, which you can find in health food stores, and water. Apply this to your insect bites until you get that natural relief.
Of course, it is wise to have an insect repellent handy in the first place. These tips for natural relief from insect bites will just be for good measure.
